TOMORROW THE START
OF RALLY D’ITALIA SARDEGNA
82 CARS RACING
82 will race the
Rally d’Italia Sardegna, seventh round
of World Rally Championship and the
third round of Junior Rally Championship.
The Automobile Club Italia the race that
have officially started yesterday in the
charming scenery of Marina Vecchia to
Porto Cervo, with the ceremonial start.
The first special stage will be very
important to decide first results. First
car will leave the Service Park in Cala
Saccaia at 8.30, for first two special
stages of first day of race.
Crastazza, with a total length of 31.13
km, is the longest special stage of this
rally, and the most difficult.
The Special Stages of Terranova km 21.21
and Monte Olia km 20.36 will follow.
Then the cars will return to Service
Park, they will start once again for the
second lap and the will finish to race
the second leg around the 6 pm. The
total track has a total length of 392
km, including 145.40 of special stage.
The shakedown has been held today, in
order to set the cars for the race. The
times said what was predictable: the
crews of Citroen, Ford and Subaru will
fight for the podium. Mostly we noted
Dani Sordo on Citroen C4, Gronholnm and
Hirvonen on Ford Focus Wrc, Petter
Solberg on Subaru Impreza Wrc 2007, and
the world rally champion Sebastien Loeb
on C4. Citroen, Ford e Subaru fighting

“ Special Stages are difficults,
slippery and very technical – said
Sebastien Loeb – very different from
last year. Some are the same but with an
opposite way. We had to take the notes,
once again. We tried to make a good work
on the roads, at the moment the surface
condition are good”.
After the unlucky adventure in
Argentina, Solberg wants to led the way
of this race. “I like this rally,
actually – said the Subaru driver- I
think I can challenge for the top. Now
that everything is ok, we are very happy
to run this rally.. There are still
something to fix in the car, but we are
ready”.
“Last year in Sardinia I was leading
when I had to quit. I want to beat Loeb”.
