Presentation of the FIA “Italy Final Report”
The “evaluation” of the Rally d’Italia Sardegna 2007 and General Statistics

Aci Sport and the Organising Committee of the Rally d’Italia Sardegna have introduced today, Wednesday 11th July 2007 in the Magna Hall dedicated to Robert F. Engle, at the Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport, the final evaluation prepared by the FIA and the General Statistics concerning the 2007 edition of the event. This evaluation is the result of on site checks and investigations during the event by the FIA Observers. The General Statistics are the result of observations done by the RIS 2007’s organisation on the basis of several institutional sources.

“Excellent” evaluations have been obtained in some key sectors, while “Over the standard” evaluations have been recognised to several other important organising fields. The final FIA judgment on Rally d’Italia Sardegna 2007 is extremely positive, considering the Italian Event one of the best of the whole Championship. Portugal is leading the classification, followed by Argentina, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Mexico and Montecarlo. We are now waiting the other
judgments concerning the races that have still not been raced yet in order to get a clearer point of view.
Here below the evaluation’s method and the marks that have been given to the event: The FIA evaluation system, valid for all the Championship’s races consider 5 as the best mark, otherwise 1 is the worst; these marks are recognised to 5 sectors: General, Media, Safety, Technical, TV and Radio.

Marks:
• 5 = excellent;
• 4 = over the standard;
• 3 = standard;
• 2 = below the standard;
• 1 = unacceptable.

The evaluation obtained by RIS 2007 allows the event to be considered as one of the best ithe Championship, getting some “excellent” too: thanks to the cooperation with Police department of Sassari and the local police deputies, RIS 2007 has been considered the most safety race in the Championship. A good evaluation has been recognised to other sectors as Media (wellcoming and assistance), Technical (infrastructures, services and assistance dedicated to vehicles) and General (Organisation’s work correspondence to FIA standard) due to the good cooperation with Institutions and Privates such as : Forestall Authority of Sardinia, Province’s office of Olbia Tempio, all the Municipalizations involved such as Olbia, Tempio Pausania and Arzachena, the Port Authority of Olbia Golfo Aranci, CONI, Meridiana and Wokita, Colony e Moby’s Group. The TV and Radio sector has improved its results.

Statistics concerning to touristic arrivals linked to the Rally’s event have confirmed the rising trend: through random interviews to hotels and data obtained by the Airport and Pier’s deputies, pretty 14.000 people arrived in Olbia during Rally,14th – 20th May 2007 creating 53.321 presences on the territory with an increasing data of the 3,5% on 2006 edition. People have spent much more money instead of 2006: from 9,9 millions euros (2006) to 10,2 millions euros (2007).
193 different journalistic headings have been accredited for a total amount of about 350 media’s delegates. The official site of the Rally d’Italia Sardegna has recorded 5.358.401 contacts just in May. Between June 2006 and May 2007 the total web site contacts have reached the amount of 10 millions.
