Still on the main
road, you will come across the large
town of Buddusò, (6000 habitants )
settled on the lopes of the plateau
bearing the same name and easily
recognisable by its granite houses. This
stone, in fact, is so valued in the
region as a raw material that in the
course of time a sculpting activity has
developed, and the built-up area, whose
streets are also paved with granite, is
enhanced with stone-working. The town is
also famous for its wooden chests, made
of oak or chestnut and decorated with
traditional motives. |
