TEST CITROEN
Last week the
Citroen team made a series of tests in
view of the WRC dates on gravel roads,
starting from the Rally of Mexico which
is the first world championship race on
gravel.
The French team chose again the gravel
roads of the island to test the C4 at
it’s best. Under the technical guidance
of the engineers Emilie Le Faure e
Laurent Fregosi, the official drivers
Sebastien Loeb and Daniel Sordo made the
following tests of: endurance, attitude,
suspension and differential tests.
The development of
C4 took place in Gallura on the gravel
of San Biagio, Canu, Camporotondo, Luras
and Tempio where, for the first two days,
Loeb tested, helped by his co-driver
Daniel Elena and by the two head test
technicians, the engineers Fregosi and
La Faure.
The French
champion was satisfied with the results
given by the car. “We have worked with
good results, in view of the next races
on gravel “- said the four times world
champion-“ where we will fight to go
straight to the victory. Unfortunately
in Sweden I put the wheels on the snow,
spinning round. Everybody saw what
happened. Latvala won but it wasn’t a
surprise for me. The Finnish is a young
driver who runs very fast on snow, ice
and on gravel. Last year he had already
shown to be very fast on asphalt too.
The World championship is just at the
beginning and I ‘m confident that again
I will have my say.
Regarding the
Spanish driver Sordo, he continued the
tests over the past three days. The last
of which was dedicated overall to verify
the resistance and the endurance of
various technical parts of the C4. The
short opinion of Marc Marti about the
development of the tests is: “We did our
best and we tried everything that was of
interest to us and our team.
At the moment the
tests of the top teams have been
suspended in Sardegna. Suburu, Ford and
Suzuki haven’t yet made official the
date of their trials in view of the
Italian race of the World Championship
planned in May. |
