THE RALLY
D’ITALIA SARDEGNA TESTS THE NEW FORD
KUGA WITH THE WINNERS OF THE “MUNDIALITO
SARDO”
Tuesday 15th April, in Monte Plebi, the
winners of the four editions of the
“Mundialito Sardo”, the dedicated race
for the Sardinian Drivers linked to the
Rally d’Italia Sardegna, have tested for
the first time in Italy the new Ford
Kuga, the fascinating off-road vehicle
of the famous American Manufacturer
Company.
Marrone/Arru,
Caragliu/Atzei, Marrone/Piga and Dettori/Corda
are the crews that have won the
“Mundialito” since the first edition of
the Rally d’Italia Sardegna. It is a
race in the race that, even if it is not
in an official way, involve all the
Sardinian crews already entered.
The 15th April,
Dino Caragliu with Mauro Atzei,
Francesco Marrone with Alberto Arru have
tested the Ford Kuga, in a professional
way, on a gravel itinerary . “It is a
very good car” – says Dino Caragliu, the
first driver who has tested it “under
many points of view. It is comfortable
and fast reactive. Perfect as family car,
both for daily use or just for the we.
Perfect on mountain itinerary thanks to
its soft set up without loosing its
quality in safety, it is very good in
speed drive”. “Very good impression”,
continues Mauro Atzei, his co-driver,
“under many aspects: safety on road,
comfort and simple to drive”. The crew
is training for the WRC: we will try to
do our best but we have to consider that
our car is not so competitive as the
others that take part at the mundialito
are” – continues Atzei -“we must race in
a very cautious way, trying to exploit
our quality of resistance and paying
much attention. We would like to thank
all our sponsors that allow us to take
part at the WRC”.
Francesco Marrone
after the drive-test of the Ford Kuga
explains: “I’m very satisfied. It is
easy to drive on gravel, especially in
comparison with other SUV. The engine is
quick and reactive. Thanks to the
traction control system it becomes easy
to drive even on turns”. Alberto Arru’s
mind is the same “The car is very silent
even on gravel, comfortable and reactive
at low revs. The braking system is
perfect and the driving results very
directive. The feeling on off-road
driving is amazing and perfectly fitting”
For the WRC? “We are training” says
Marrone “we are trying to sign some
agreements with other sponsors. As you
can easily understand, for privates,
sponsor’s support is fundamental. For
this reason I would like to thank
everyone who supported us last season”.
