Arzachena is
situated on the side of a hill. Its old
centre has grown up around the little
18th-century church of Santa Maria
Maggiore, alongside which stands the
parish church of Santa Maria della Neve,
also built in the same century (1776)
There is no doubt about the region’s
ancient history, just a few kilometres
from Arzachena are two different
testimonies of an ancient past: the
nuraghe of Albucciu an the giants' tombs.
The first, is one of the better
preserved in the Gallura, if you
consider that it was built more then
3500 years ago. The second were
collective sepulchres.
