Bono is considered
the county town of Goceano. It is
located at The bottom of the Monte Rasu
with its 1259 meters peak called “Sa
Punta Manna” and its territory is rich
in historical monuments. The local
economy is type of agricultural and
pastoral and it is also famous for the
handicraft represented by the
manufacturing of iron, wood , textile
and by the working bread too.
Bono is
characterized by beautiful landscape
located along the Tirso plain and The
Monte Rasu.
During the
Middle age it belonged to the
“Curatoria” of Goceano. A lot of
churches belong to this period, the most
important of these is Gavino di Lorthia
situated in the nearness of an old
village. It was abandoned around the
1700 probably due to the plague epidemic.
Giovanni Maria Angioy was one of the
most popular native of Bono who took
sides against the feudalism. In
consequence of that in the 1796 the town
was attacked and conquered by the
Piemontesi. |
