ALGHERO, OLBIA 8 - 11 JUNE 2017

Live Timing

Foreword

The publication of Rally Guide 1 officially opens the approaching route to 2017 Rally Italia Sardegna. A race that at the beginning has been regarded sceptically, and with the time has been able to find a solid place inside the World Rally Championship and now it is considered one of the best rounds. A success that did not find us unprepared, it’s been foreseen since the beginning, because since the beginning we knew the potential of Sardinia, the uniqueness of its gravel roads and above all because we knew we were able to count on a organizing staff composed by women and men of ACI Sport. People highly experienced and professionals in all different roles and this guarantees quality.

I wanted to start my usual welcome greeting with a little balance but above all to pay homage to those are already working and will keep working hard for the event to be successful. My thank you and greetings go first of all to Region Sardinia, to its President and to all his government body. Throughout the years the essential support of the Region allowed the race to grow and have the power to find all kind of different solutions, correcting in the meantime what could be considered as critical situations. All these facts made this event grow strong. This year too there will be important news and this year too Manufacturers, Teams, drivers and the hundred thousands of fans, that every year arrive here from all over the world, will have the possibility to live an exciting and unique event.

Stating the appointment for next June for everyone I want to close my greeting thanking the President of the FIA, Jean Todt, and all the women and men inside the FIA. Their support, their comments and collaboration are and always will be fundamental for the success of Rally Italia Sardegna.

Angelo Sticchi Damiani
President of Automobile Club d’Italia
