The
jurisdiction of the public forests belonging to
the Italian country passed to Sardinian region
with the birth of the Azienda Foreste Demaniali
Regione Sardegna (A.F.D.R.S.), instituted with
the R.L. n. 6, February 29th 1956.
In recent times, with the institution of the
Ente Foreste Sardegna (R.L. n. 24, June 9th
1999), the A.F.D.R.S. has been abolished and all
the wooded countryside has passed under the
jurisdiction of the actual Organization.
The Organization works for the development and
valorization of the regional forests and fauna
and for the creation and the diffusion of a
culture that contemplates all the naturalistic,
historical and cultural values of this island.
For what concerns forests, the aims of the
Organization are centered in activities for a
sustainable management, through actions of
hydraulic systematization and reforestation.
The managing of the forests is directed to
protection and safeguard of their reproductive,
natural and recreational functions.
For what concerns fauna, the aims are centered
in activities for the safeguard of autochthon
species in risk of extinction. The actions
foresee upbringing and feeding, cure and recover
of wild animals. Upbringing and feeding are
finalized mainly to the reproduction for
repopulation of Sardinian Partridge (Alectoris
Barbara).
The activities of cure and recover for injured
animals take place in centers specialized in
medical and chirurgical therapies, where
moreover doctors and scientists develop studies
and researches concerning diseases.
Recently two moufflons, belonging to a protect
species living in one of the most beautiful and
suggestive area of the Region, caught in their
own horns have been saved by the providential
intervention of a forester team. Furthermore,
after a 15 day period of recovering two young
exemplars of Griffon Vulture have been
reintroduced in their habitat.
Once more we can admire the permanent dedication
of all the personnel working for the Ente
Foreste to safeguard and cure of the
environmental patrimony of the island. |
