GEASAR S.p.A. , The Costa Smeralda’s airport
handling company, was found in 1985 and became
operative in March 1989 when the Ministry of
Transport gave to the society the management of
the airport.
During October 2004, after 15 years of activity,
the society has obtained a concession for a
period of forty years, with the complete
handling of the airport for the next 40 years.
At the same time, Enac has released to Geaser
the “Airport Certify”, following the “Regulation
for construction and handling of airports”,
adopted by the Board of Directors of this
Society since October 2003. This document
certifies the handling societies and foresees a
continuous revision for what concerns safety.
Costa Smeralda’s Airport is the most important
national airport with less than 2 millions of
travellers and the eighth to receive this kind
of certification.
SHAREHOLDERS
The shareholder company is composed by:
Meridiana S.p.A. (79,8%), Camera di Commercio di
Sassari (10%), Camera di commercio di Nuoro
(8%), Regione Autonoma della Sardegna (2%),
Consorzio Costa Smeralda (0,2%).
MISSION
GEASAR S.p.A, with its activities, has the aim
to:
• Plan the improvement of the airport and the
realization of structure and infrastructure of
the airport, with the guarantee of high
operative and security standards;
• Manage the airport offering to all the
companies and passengers high quality services,
in continuous improvement;
• Promote the airport in accordance with the
needs of the Region, trying to help the low
season tourism and the increase of the traffic,
with activities appropriate for an economical
and social growth of Sardinia.
