RALLY ITALIA SARDEGNA AND ENVIROMENTAL IMPACT
The Rally of Sardinia route represents one of the most spectacular scenarios in the calendar of the WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP in consideration of the “special” and “precious” natural and landscape features of the region where the FIA WRC event is staged.
The theme of environmental sustainability has been alive since the start of this event, more than ever reinforced by the awareness of the uniqueness of the places and the environmental context in which it takes place.
ACI’s objective was to create the best conditions for enhancing the Rally through a conscious and responsible strategy, according to a principle of social responsibility that is conscious and shared at all levels.
An environmental planning and management system was therefore developed to reduce the environmental impact of the places affected by the rally, guaranteeing a high level of environmental sustainability for the race.
In 2018, Rally Italia Sardegna reached the highest level of accreditation of the FIA SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM (https://www.fia.com/fia-action-environment). The event was awarded the “Achievement of Excellence”, the best of the three levels of the Environmental Certification Framework.
Aware of the difficulties of the path undertaken, but strongly motivated to implement the “virtuous” process for the good of all.
This is our challenge.
Below you will find further information on the environmental initiatives undertaken.
